Current YWCA Metropolitan Chicago Openings
Working at the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago
Founded in 1876 by a group of women concerned with women’s welfare in the city of Chicago during a time of great transition, the YWCA has continuously grown and expanded its reach, programs and reputation. Our history includes many “firsts” and we will continue to add more “firsts” to our future. We are a long established, enthusiastic and energized family of Staff, Volunteers, Interns, dedicated supporters and Board members. We continue to innovate and seize the future.
Our Mission and Values speak to our belief systems: The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
We are a passionate group – passionate about our role in our communities, about our services in multiple programs to clients and passionate about our quality. Half of our staff members have been with us for more than two years. More than a quarter of staff members have been with the agency for five years or more and 15% of us have been with the YWCA for ten or more years.
We do things “right.” We offer an opportunity to learn and to grow professionally, to become involved in the work, to live our mission and values. And, in the midst of our professionalism and intensity, we have fun, too!
If we sound like we’re “right’ for you and your skills, take a look at our open positions, which may change month-to-month. Come with us on our journey as we “ThrYve.”
Why Join Us
Many of our employees have been involved with our causes and the services that support them for years, often on a personal basis. That personal experience enters into the equation and employees choose work in one of our programs or departments that have a particular connection to the employee. Other people are attracted to our mission, services and reputation for excellence.
We Value Employees
We offer a wide range of benefits, which you can read about in “Our Benefits.” We are committed to diversity and attracting promising, involved and talented employees. We are an Affirmative Action focused employer. Our relationships between employees and their supervisors are close, and we require that they nurture the development of all of our staff. We are enthusiastic about promotions within the YWCA that recognize our employees’ growth and contributions to our work.
